is it really vista compatable/acer flat screen?
Date: January 5, 2009
Pros: Fast Cons: doesn't work with my monitor well blue screens.
Product Use
I suppose the product is good.
"I'm not sure what the deal is, but a friend installed the ADM card, windows vista, and an acer monitor. All were supposed to be compatable, but they aren't. I get blue screens more than I ever want to see when I try to get onto my desktop. I have to power on, reset, power off and combinnation of those items until I get a screen. I have to go to the ADM website and download the Display Driver ATI WDM Integrated Driver Catalyst Software Suite (64 bit) (English Language Only) For the 64 bit version of Windows Vista. Maybe it patches it but there is not consistency for use, nor is there any permanent solution to my knowledge. What gives? I'm not a techie so I dont' really know the in's and outs, but you'd surely think everything should work together. Not sure if I should rate anything because this is very frustrating. WHen I am working online all seems well and pretty fast refresh and movement."

Outstanding part
Date: January 4, 2009
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Many Features, Easy to Overclock
Product Use
I mainly use this for gaming.
"This unit is a solid upgrade over my prior card that was already quite good (2900 Pro @ 800Mhz - 512 bit). I have an aftermarket cooler and can max out the core speed in CCC while never going over mid 50's C. This card runs everything I throw at it without any problems at settings I'm quite happy with. I am quite happy with the performance of this part for the money I spent, especially considering that the competition wanted to charge much more for similar product."

Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality
"Totally pleased with this card. Even photos look so much better on my LCD monitor, and games, the difference between this and the 2600 xt or 6600 gt cards I had before is unnnn-believable! Not only in game play but in absolutely stunning graphics. And, at a reasonable price as well!"

Pros: Fast, High Quality, Easy to Overclock

Here is the real story. Had many crashes at first and did what all old geeks do, get on line and look for the lastest drivers.Better than 5.2 floppy disks coming in Slow_mail, 1985. HaHA. Love the product. Keep up the good work Thanks, Gizzer
"Very Nice. Combined with a hpW2558hc MONITOR, THIS SYSTEM REALLY ROCKS. Running Crysis at 200mhz stopped all the crashing problems. All other card settings are at factory defaults with all of lastest CCC and driver loaded installed. Very fast and unbelievable realistic graphics. Thanks and keep the new technolgy coming. (55 YRS old and still gaming) 100% Fan Speed, FromGizzer."

A Reasonably Priced CPU
Date: December 22, 2008
Pros: Good Value
Product Use
It's my home computer. I use it for everything. Mainly browsing the web and playing games like World of Warcraft.
"This is the cheapest quad-core CPU on the market and it runs on a great platform. Any chipset you buy will have great onboard graphics compared to the competitors.
When it is matched with a high-end video card it will run any game under the sun.
It's great for it's price but don't expect much else out of it. Overclocking can vary greatly but typically you won't get more than a couple 100 Mhz out of it.
It's not as fast as it's competitor but you can't argue with price."

"Being an insomniac who passes his nights gaming it is important to me that the realism of effects stands out and AMD + ATI radeon has always been and will always be my card of choice. The frame rates are astonishing and the tempeture never even came close to warm much less hot.

The 4870's totally rock Nvidia
Date: December 21, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Many Features, Easy to Overclock
Product Use
Play online games.
"I have owned several different graphic cards over the years and the 4870 is by all means the best video card I have ever owned. This thing is fast beyond belief and just screams performance. It is incredibly easy to overclock and is very stable. For some serious graphic processing power the 4870 is the way to go. This card is beyond belief and I highly recommend it.
I run dual 4870's in XFire and I can run any game on the market at max settings for max fps. I can destroy other folks before they even see me render me on their screen lol.
I was a die hard Nvidia fan until I bought these cards. AMD for life now. Wow these cards rock."

Pros: Good Value

graphics card in a gaming system
"I have been building gaming systems for some time now. I never really considered AMD graphic cards as good value for money when building. I decided that I would give the 4870 1gig a try after reading some great benchmark results. At the time of building the competition had a superior single card solution, though the price was superior also. The 4870 proved to return some amazing benchmark results especially in the field of anti-analising. This card is the best bang for your back at time of writing."
