OK Chip
Date: November 19, 2008
Pros: Good Value, Easy to Overclock Cons: Not Fast Enough, voltage is too high
Product Use
I am a Computer Science student in Graduate School. I use my computer for compiling, benchmarks, and general use (Gaming, email, word processing, etc.)
"I have the Phenom 9500.
Runs good and was cheap but lacks compared to Intel's quads. Voltage is too high and performance is too low. Price was nice, but the difference in price with the Q6600 is so small while the performance is large. This is a good chip, but not worth it compared to any of Intel's quad core chips."

Date: November 19, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, runs everything good. Cons: needs to overclock better., more cache please.
Product Use
Gaming, Benchmarking, Overclocking, checking emails and just plain owning.
"I have a Phenom 9950 BE. Its the best cpu I have ever owned. I have had the competitors quads and I would choose my phenom any day. Everything is so smooth and just works.
This CPU is also a pretty good overclocker. I managed to get mine to 3.2ghz and it FLIES."

Fast n Hot
Date: September 10, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Easy to Overclock Cons: Runs Hot
Product Use
AMD mother board chip sets and processors for video/audio encoding and games.
"The Phenom 9950 BE is a solid performer. Enthusiast that do video or audio encoding should consider this processor. The 9950 BE delivers exceptionally smooth video gaming performance and works extremely well with multiple graphics card configurations. Overclocking is very easy using the unlocked multiplier and can be utilized with Cool ‘n’ Quiet enabled. Stability and performance are of the highest quality. This processor runs warm. The stock CPU cooling device is not adequate for overclocking. A good aftermarket cooling device will serve to expand the stable processing power of the 9950. Running Cool ‘n’ Quiet in a multiplier overclocked instance is not standard and requires some programming magic but helps keep the already warm 9950 thermals to a reasonable level. This would be a nice feature for future revisions of Cool ‘n’ Quiet. Overall I am quite pleased and I look forward to future product of AMD."

It's my job to know
Date: September 1, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Many Features, Easy to Overclock, Energy Efficient, runs extremely cool for 140w
Product Use
Extensive Graphics {Direct X10, Blu-ray}, Video and amazed it supports 1066mHz RAM, Photography, Multi-Media. Also Extensive software downloads {2.8GB file sizes} and most the time I do all these at the same time! This AMD Phenom 9950 X4 is only working 2% to at the most 10% and thats on all 4 processor's. I have a special digital gauge where I can watch all 4-core operating at once and have never sen anything this outstanding or efficiant as the AMD Phenom 9950 X4 even under extreme use. I have many computers where the processor became extremely hot, hence the large heat sink's even 'water cooled' towers! as I have set this up and running now for over 2 weeks I have found it to be an extremely Cool operating Processor which suprised me because it is rated at 140W. It runs cooler than my old Pentium 4 which was no where near this wattage, I do not even think it was 65W it also kept 'crashing' when I tried to download video's and large software files and this processor the AMD 9950 X4 it's only working at 3% of it's capacity! I have something that will grow with the computer age and will last and support what the next genration of Computers are becoming! Great product can not say enough about this Processor!

"This is the best processor that AMD has ever came out with. I recommend it to anybody who is looking for an alternitive to Intel.
I switched from Intel about 3 or 4 years ago and I enjoy having AMD processors. They are very energy efficient, fast, and always ahead of the future. Not only that but they are cheaper then Intel.
