Great Value Price and Performance Tier
Date: February 9, 2009
Pros: Fast, Good Value, Many Features Cons: runs a bit hot at high performance mode
Product Use
I have been using this computer developing software for my freelance jobs occational movie watching and gaming.
"I have a Turion X2 RM72 notebook computer the model is CQ40-310AU I am quite satisfied with the purchase. I think its great AMD and ATI are a bang for the buck. I already recommended it to my friends and office workmates. Although I always switch processor priorities upon usage depending on the environment temperatures. When working on a cooled environment and intensive tasks I switch my Vista OS power plan to high performance thats when the notebook heats up a bit. But overall I have never encountered a BSOD with the notebook even when its running a bit hot. Overall performance and price is excellent with the addition of a dedicated 64mb graphics card provided by ATI Redeon HD 3200 this one was a show stealer."

Great Deal!
Date: December 20, 2008
Pros: Good Value, High Quality, Easy to Overclock Cons: Not Fast Enough, battery life
Product Use
This one is for school only. i have a AMD server and Gaming desktop all with ATI video cards! AMD Rocks!
"AMD has been my choice in computers since my first build with the K6. AMD offers great products at amazing prices! the only con is that the battery life is not the greatest the Intel has a better battery life. but then again i have never had a AMD fail on me and i have had a 478 pin CPU P4 fail on me. as a matter of fact my K6 still works but at 333Mhz."

Chip Beyond The Box
Date: December 19, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Energy Efficient
Product Use
video production, audio recording, animation, machinima and independent DVD mastering.
"Purchasing my laptop, with an AMD Athlon X2 was the way to to go. I'd used Intel and AMD for years and the AMD X2 provides the right amount of processing power both on the go and in a desktop situation and for my Acer laptop. And now having worked with the AMD X2 for the last few months, it's capability and performance under pressure has been exemplary and made my old software keep pace or surpass my newer (less-used) Vista-ware. The AMD Athlon X2 is a great leveler in chip tech for the home user interested in multitasking, especially with video, on-line and off. I won't feel a need to upgrade for quite a while."

Extremely Fast!!! >o<
Date: December 19, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Many Features, Easy to Overclock, Energy Efficient, flexibility with other components Cons: nothing at all...
Product Use
Use it on gaming rig, trying to excell itz limits under fan cooling system. No Problem at all, as long as you know what your doing and you understand very well the inns and outs of these system.
"Athlon 64 X2 +6400 Black Edition is a 3.2 Ghz Processor that I overclocked to 3.4 at fan cooling system, runs stable and fast with my ATI Radeon 4870 X2. Insane fps. at fine resolutions. What more on a Quadfire set up on Hybrid ( O.o ) Can't imagine all the power. This processor is almost as powerful as the Phenom chips, works well using AMD Overdrive. I would highly recommend this for fan cooling system cases with front in top out ventilating system on a 5 120mm fans."

A great all around processor
Date: December 19, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality Cons: could be a few bucks cheaper
Product Use
How I use them? Well I turn on the power. I have a nice ATI graphics card that supports Crossfire ... which is next on my list.
"Having used both processor brands, I will tell you now; AMD provides the best processor on the market. I currently use an AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor in my new machine, and speed wise it is the best. It blows anything else out of the water. It was a bit expensive, but not as much as the other brand for comparable price. I would have went X4, but for what I do it would have been overkill. This is a great gamer or mod-video use processor. I will always buy AMD, always."

Great Value!
Date: December 19, 2008
Pros: Good Value, High Quality, Easy to Overclock, Energy Efficient, runs cool Cons: small l2 & l3 cache
"AMD has been my CPU provider of choice for years. I find they deliver great performance at a rock-bottom price.
In this generation of chips, AMD greatly improved the efficiency of their Atholon chips. Heat generation is way down, even though they added a second core!
My only gripe is that the size of their L2 & L3 caches are small compared to intel's chips, which can be problematic when multi-tasking."

PC Specs
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Many Features, Energy Efficient
Product Use
Word processing, email, web development, graphics creation, etc.
"I bought an HP Slimline s3500f a couple of months ago. The system has a dual core AMD Athlon 5400 processor (2.8 GHz), 4 GB of RAM and the 64 bit version of winodws Vista. The PC is extremely fast applications like Adobe Photoshop open in about 3 seconds. Multitasking is very good on this PC. So far I haven't had any problems from the OS and the system is performing very well. The system has a Windows experience Index of 3 because of the weak graphics card that comes with the PC but overall the PC is very fast for most operations."
