Outperforms my Intel Quad Desktop
Date: November 19, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Many Features, Easy to Overclock, Energy Efficient
Product Use
Mainly in my small business of website design and development. Also for entertainment, as I watch a movie almost every night. I do graphic design, word processing and a host of other things along the way.
"I purchased my HP laptop with an AMD Turion X2. I had just upgraded the processor in my desktop to an Intel Core Dual Quad and the first time I used my laptop I was astonished that it blew my desktop computer totally out of the water. I just packed the desktop away and plugged my 22" widescreen monitor, keyboard and mouse into the laptop and it's running so fast it's unbelievable. I think I will be running AMD forever!"

A plus over Intel dual cores
Date: November 19, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Many Features, Easy to Overclock, Energy Efficient, produces less heat then an intel core duo
Product Use
Gaming lots of gaming. I needed a mobile gaming machine and this fits the bill to a tee, I will getting another processor for this machine, unless the architecture changes, then a new laptop with the next gen processors.
"I got to play with two Acer laptops a while back. One had a Intel Core Duo and the other had a Turion X2 Dual-Core M. In everything I did on these laptops the AMD out shined the Intel by 30 to 40%. But then I game a lot, so gaming was a main key for me. They both had the same memory, and same GFX card. The AMD was a lot cooler and used less power. I got an extra 20% longer battery life with the AMD over the Intel. Granted they both had a 6 cell battery, but 2 full hours over an hour and 40 minutes is a major deal for me, and that's under full gaming load. I had to have a laptop cooler under the Intel just to keep it at 95 degrees, the AMD I didn't and it ran at 88 degrees. No studdering in Oblivion on the AMD, but there was studdering on the Intel, which I can only assume is because of the heat. All in all I would recommend this processor to anyone that was looking for a good machine."

Excellent Processor
Date: October 13, 2008
Pros: Fast, Good Value, High Quality, Many Features, Energy Efficient, better than intel!
Product Use
Intensive Gaming. Lots of High Load applications and as my home's Entertainment center.
"Loved my AMD Turion 64 x2 processor, never gave me any trouble. Fast and power efficient, my platform (at the time one of the best available) could consistently outperform my friend's more expensive and faster rated (although I doubt that) Intel platform. Recently my RAM chip died and I plan to purchase the HP version of the PUMA platform. I believe that AMD will surmount all my expectations. If AMD stopped making processors I'd stop buying computers, bottom line."
